The Triangle Math & Science Tigers lost against the River Mill Jaguars back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Triangle Math & Science fell just short of River Mill by a score of 43-40. Triangle Math & Science has struggled against River Mill recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Triangle Math & Science's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayman Idrissi, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Ridwan Abukar was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
River Mill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Brown out in front who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Osborne, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Triangle Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for River Mill, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
Triangle Math & Science will head out on the road to face off against Research Triangle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Research Triangle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Thursday. As for River Mill, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Clover Garden School at 7:30 p.m. Clover Garden School is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
