Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Old Forge

Old Forge had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came out on top against the Pittston Patriots by a score of 50-38. The Blue Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Old Forge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Fanning out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Fanning's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Ryan Demarco was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Old Forge's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Pittston, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Old Forge will head out to challenge Holy Cross at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pittston, they will welcome Hazleton Area at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
