The Blanchard Lions will square off against the Wagoner Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Blanchard sitting on 11 straight wins and Wagoner on 13.
With a playoff game on the line, Blanchard rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 26-14.
Blanchard relied on the efforts of Carson Cooksey, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and Hudsen Periman, who picked up 72 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Wagoner can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over Ada. Wagoner's victory was all the more impressive since Ada was averaging only 16 points allowed on the season.
Blanchard's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Wagoner, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0-1.
Blanchard beat Wagoner 23-14 when the teams last played back in November of 2017. Will Blanchard repeat their success, or does Wagoner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
