The Triangle Math & Science Tigers struggled with assists on Friday (the Chatham Charter Knights had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Triangle Math & Science took a serious blow against Chatham Charter, falling 72-36. Triangle Math & Science has not had much luck with Chatham Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jailen Hawkins, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Ayman Idrissi, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Leading Chatham Charter to victory were Jonah Ridgill and Brennan LaVelle. Ridgill scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while LaVelle dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Ridgill has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last eight times he's played. Aidan Allred was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Triangle Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Chatham Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triangle Math & Science will square off against Woods Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chatham Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Clover Garden School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chatham Charter will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Clover Garden School surely won't give up without a fight.
