5A Region I District 4 recap Nov. 7, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Timber Creek, who took down 351st ranked Keller, 35-28. Taylor Jones threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Carroll extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region I District 4 this week by beating Fossil Ridge, 70-7. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Kenny Hill provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Carroll bested the Panthers. He completed 14 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 113 yards. Hill's favorite target this week was Ryan Weigel, who caught six passes for 157 yards.
Dalton Mills was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 224 yards as the Indians beat Fossil Ridge. Nathan Licon also contributed to the rushing game with 17 yards on the ground.
On the ground, Keller's Mills has rushed for 1211 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Adonis Ramos. The Fossil Ridge star has 54 catches for 749 yards.
Northwest's Dakota Chavis needs only 81 yards against Keller Central next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 151 carries Chavis has accumulated 919 yard this year.
A big matchup in 5A Region I District 4 this week will be when the Texans take on the Chargers. Northwest is in second place, while Keller Central is in third place.
The Falcons moved up to 358 from 400 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Timber Creek climbed the ranks as a result of besting Carl Stralow's team 35-28.
