Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Merryville). They walked away with a 57-45 victory over the South Beauregard Knights on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Merryville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for South Beauregard, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Merryville will be home for the holidays to greet Westlake on Tuesday. As for South Beauregard, they will take on Vinton in a tournament on Saturday. Vinton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something South Beauregard surely won't give up without a fight.
