Ogden International posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 61-18 win over Phoenix Military on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ogden International.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ogden International to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jazlyn Ortiz, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Ortiz has scored at least a third of Ogden International's points. Another player making a difference was Zydrea Childs, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Ogden International is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Phoenix Military, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ogden International and Rickover Naval will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rickover Naval's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so Ogden International's offense will have their work cut out for them. Phoenix Military will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cristo Rey Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
