The Pensacola Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Booker T. Washington Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Pensacola strolled past West Florida with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pensacola.
Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They breezed by Crestview at home to the tune of 67-17. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Booker T. Washington has managed all season.
Chamiah Francis was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Laila Snow, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Pensacola has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Booker T. Washington, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home.
Pensacola might still be hurting after the 56-32 defeat they got from Booker T. Washington in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Francis, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Pensacola knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
