Bellaire hasn't had much luck against East Jordan recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. Bellaire's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so East Jordan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Bellaire fell victim to St. Mary Cathedral and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Snowbirds. The game marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Colin Bearup spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bellaire saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Balko, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Balko's first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Jordan). They never let Central Lake get on the board and left with a 27-0 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.
Korbyn Russell and Elijah Burns made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Russell tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Burns tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Russell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base, while Burns got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, William Webb and Jacob Haley did most of the damage at the plate: Webb got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Haley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs Haley has posted since back in June of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brenden Aenis, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
East Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Lake didn't got any hits.
Bellaire's loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for East Jordan, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bellaire has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like East Jordan struggles in that department as they've averaged .479. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bellaire might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from East Jordan in their previous matchup back in June of 2024. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
