The King Lions suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 75-50 loss at the hands of Jesuit. While losing is never fun, King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Jesuit is ranked 66th).
Despite the loss, King had strong showings from Julien Barnett, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Jabriel Hakim, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andreas Jackson, who scored two points along with ten rebounds.
King has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Jesuit, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.
King won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chamberlain at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. Chamberlain is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Jesuit, they will head out on the road to take on Tampa Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
