Hilton extended their winning streak  to five  on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 12-8 in the process. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   6-5 W against the Gates Chili Spartans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cadets also won the last time the pair played  back in March of 2024.
As for Gates Chili, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record  this season. That  patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games.
For Gates Chili's part,  Abbie Graupman put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits. Graupman has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than ten  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting three  hits from her three  at bats.
 In other batting news,  Mackenzie Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Hannah Brown, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
Hilton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Gates Chili: the pair will be back at it again later today.
