Baseball Recap: Saugus Comes Up Short

After soaring to 17 runs the game before, Saugus was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Chatsworth Chancellors by a score of 3-2. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chancellors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Saugus got a good showing from Tyler Roberts, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Roberts has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Saugus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Haag, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Saugus dropped their record down to 12-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Chatsworth, their record now sits at 10-8-1.

Saugus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Golden Valley on the 15th. As for Chatsworth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Agoura on the 16th.
