Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Oakland Patriots walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 38-3 victory over Gallatin. Oakland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.
Daune Morris was his usual excellent self, rushing for 188 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 102 receiving yards. Morris was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Oakland's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Gallatin, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Oakland will head out on the road to face off against Mount Juliet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Juliet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Oakland is ranked ninth). Gallatin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
