Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tremont). They greeted the New Year with with a 58-44 victory over the Brilliant Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-42 back in December of 2024.

Tremont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Platt out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Platt a new career-high in rebounds. Nathan Crenshaw was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Tremont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Tremont's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Brilliant, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tremont won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Biggersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Biggersville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Brilliant, they and Phillips will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
