The Fossil Ridge SaberCats entered their tilt with the Castle View Sabercats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Fossil Ridge managed a 52-46 victory over Castle View on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fossil Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fossil Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Smith, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Carmen Arkin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Several Sabercats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenzie Tosch, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Mroz, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Fossil Ridge now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Castle View, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fossil Ridge will take on Broomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Castle View, they will head out on the road to face off against Chaparral at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Castle View in Colorado (Chaparral is ranked 19th, while Castle View is ranked 94th).
