The Tecumseh Braves will be playing at home against the Perry Central Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Perry Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Tecumseh, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Tecumseh didn't have too much trouble with Forest Park on the road as they won 59-43. Given Tecumseh's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Forest Park is ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tecumseh got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katelyn Marx out in front who scored 17 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Marx has scored at least 25% of Tecumseh's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Feather, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Perry Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 43-32 to West Washington. Perry Central has not had much luck with West Washington recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The victory makes it two in a row for Tecumseh and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Perry Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Tecumseh against Perry Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 62-34 win. Will Tecumseh repeat their success, or does Perry Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
