The Ferndale Golden Eagles will take on the Mount Tahoma T-Birds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Ferndale took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over Timberline. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Ferndale just coasted through the last quarter.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Mount Tahoma at home against West Seattle on Saturday as the team secured a 53-14 win. Given Mount Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while West Seattle is ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mount Tahoma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tre' Walker, who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 85 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes. Walker's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Brison Bailey, who gained 119 total yards and two touchdowns.
Ferndale is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Mount Tahoma, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
