It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lytle Pirates can now relate to. They were outmatched by Blanco on the road and fell 47-0. While losing is never fun, Lytle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 857th, while Blanco is ranked 318th).
Lytle's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Blanco, Jourdanton, and Hondo. As for Blanco, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Lytle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Blanco will take on London at TBD on Friday.
