The Juab Wasps's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle at 12:00 p.m. on December 5th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Juab didn't have too much trouble with Pine View at home as they won 46-31. Given Juab's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Pine View is ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Ava Cuff, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Juab's points. Lucy Richards was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Juan Diego Catholic beat Hillcrest 35-26 on Thursday.
Juab's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Juan Diego Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Juab beat Juan Diego Catholic 38-29 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Does Juab have another victory up their sleeve, or will Juan Diego Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
