Baseball Recap: Ashdown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Ashdown entered their tilt with Centerpoint on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Knights. Considering the Panthers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Gunnar Altenbaumer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Altenbaumer was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Wood Walton was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Tyler Porter was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Ashdown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centerpoint only posted an OBP of .077.

Ashdown pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Centerpoint, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Ashdown Panthers face off against Bismarck Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centerpoint, they will face off against Blevins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Centerpoint is facing Blevins at the right time seeing as Blevins is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
