The Hardee Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-65 to Mulberry. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Thursday (55), Hardee still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Hardee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Phoenix Romeo. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points. Romeo continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Samuel Teape, who scored 17 points.
Hardee now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Mulberry, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Hardee and Frostproof will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Frostproof has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 847 points over their last 12 games. Mulberry won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lake Wales at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th.
