On Thursday, South Sevier faced Kanab in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The South Sevier Rams fell  49-41 to the Kanab Cowboys. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, South Sevier still got an impressive performance from   Sydnee Patterson, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 18 points and nine  rebounds. That's the most  boards  Patterson has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was  Caitlin Nielson, who  posted eight  points in addition to five  boards and four  steals.
 Even though they lost, South Sevier  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least 11  offensive rebounds in ten consecutive  contests  dating back to last season.
 It was another big night for  Rylee Little, who  dropped  a double-double on 20 points and 13  rebounds for Kanab. That makes it five consecutive games in which  Little has scored at least a third of Kanab's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Savannah Bateman, who  had 12 points and three  steals.
Having lost for the first time  this season, South Sevier  fell to 4-1. As for Kanab, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
 South Sevier wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  47-36  win against Draper APA on the 13th. As for Kanab, they will welcome Parowan  at 7:00  p.m.  on December 19th.
