In what's become a running theme this season, the Pahrump Valley Trojans gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Boulder City at home to the tune of 52-18. Winning may never get old, but Pahrump Valley sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Pahrump Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kailani Martinez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Martinez hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Coleman, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Boulder City struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Pahrump Valley's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Boulder City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pahrump Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Palo Verde at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Boulder City, they will head out on the road to challenge Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sports Leadership & Management focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
