Lyons-Decatur Northeast fought the good fight in their overtime game against Randolph on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Randolph Cardinals 61-56. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Weston Hardeman, who posted ten points. Hardeman is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Eyan Tuttle was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Randolph, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-33 victory against Winside on the 3rd. As for Randolph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-56 win against Hartington-Newcastle on the 3rd.
