Everything came up roses for Sierra Lutheran against Pyramid Lake last Friday as the team secured a 48-6 win. No one put up better numbers for Sierra Lutheran than sophomore Shaun Emm, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 166 yards on the ground and threw 1 TD. Emm has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 4 games.
Meanwhile, Excel Christian faced Whittell in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Excel Christian were able to grind out a solid victory over Whittell, winning 58-48. Yes, you read that final score correctly. Yes, this was football.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-3. The Excel Christian defense got after the quarterback against Whittell to the tune of four sacks, so Sierra Lutheran's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the matchup.
