Horizon fell just short of the SaberCats by a score of 52-50. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Horizon in their matchups with the SaberCats: they've now lost five in a row.
Horizon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Greene, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Northrup, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Fossil Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Nutting, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Carter Gray was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Horizon's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Fossil Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Lobos at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Rocky Mountain is ranked 88th, while the Hawks are ranked 66th). As for Fossil Ridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Lightning at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Legacy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
