Combs has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. The Combs Coyotes and the Eastmark Firebirds will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eastmark took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Combs, who comes in off a win.
Even though Mountain Pointe scored an imposing 72 points on Saturday, Combs still came out on top. Combs slipped by Mountain Pointe 73-72.
Logan Tuckfield continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Johnathon Byaus, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Eastmark's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their rough 72-52 defeat to American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eastmark has scored all season.
Combs is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Eastmark, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Things could have been worse for Combs, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 85-67 loss to Eastmark in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Eastmark's Timothy Gorham, who scored 32 points along with seven rebounds. Now that Combs knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
