Bayside is 2-8 against Salem since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bayside Marlins will look to defend their home court against the Salem Sundevils at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Bayside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Bayside can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup. They breezed by Cape Henry Collegiate on the road to the tune of 58-23. The win was just what Bayside needed coming off of a 65-34 loss in their prior matchup.
Bayside can attribute much of their success to Micala Poe, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six steals, and Jessie Ware, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. Ware is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rayani Jones, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Salem suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Princess Anne at home and fell 73-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Salem has scored all season.
Bayside now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Salem, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
