Glendale has gone 9-1 against Ozark recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Glendale hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
On Wednesday, Glendale didn't have quite enough to beat Forsyth and fell 3-2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ozark, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let Waynesville get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering Ozark has won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Graham Bennett looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ozark let Peyton Bullinger and Drew Hayward run wild. Bullinger went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Hayward went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Hayward a new career-high. Trey Burton was another key player, earning three runs and one stolen base.
Ozark hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waynesville struck out nine times.
Ozark pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.
Glendale came out on top in a nail-biter against Ozark when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
