If the Elite Prep Academy Eagles were feeling good off their 65-34 takedown of the Regency Christian Academy Knights on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Elite Prep Academy took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Mary Prep on Thursday. Elite Prep Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lake Mary Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Elite Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Jahmani Salomon, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of King Williams, who scored 11 points.
Elite Prep Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lake Mary Prep pulled down 20.
Lake Mary Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Cruse led the charge by scoring 17 points. Wade Brashears was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Elite Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Lake Mary Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Elite Prep Academy will be staying on the road on December 15th to face off against Eastland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Lake Mary Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m.
