Wilder had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Garden Valley 31-8. Garden Valley can consider this payback for the 32-46 loss they dealt Wilder the last time the teams encountered one another.
Garden Valley's defeat came about despite a quality game from sophomore Covy Kelly, who picked up 76 yards on the ground. This was the first game for both teams, giving Wilder a 1-0 record and starting Garden Valley off at 0-1.
In two weeks, Wilder take on Tri-Valley at 7:00 PM. As for Garden Valley, they will face of against Oakley.
