Mora has gone 9-1 against McCurdy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rangers/Rangerettes will venture away from home to face off against the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mora has three straight victories, McCurdy has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Mora made easy work of Pecos and carried off a 13-3 win. The Rangers/Rangerettes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.
Justina Duran was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Duran was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Mora got a massive performance out of Jazzlyn Duran, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Mikaela Lujan was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, McCurdy came up short against Hatch Valley on Friday, falling 22-12.
Mariana Arambula was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Serenity Martinez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
McCurdy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mora, their record now sits at 7-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. However, it's not like McCurdy struggles in that department as they've averaged .394. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Mora's way against McCurdy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Mora made off with a 23-3 victory. Will the Rangers/Rangerettes repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
