King's Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans by a score of 71-69. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cayden Williams, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Earl B. Edmonds, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

King's Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5.

King's Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-55 loss against Prince George Academy Blue on the 9th. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, they will head out to square off against Mt. Zion Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Zion Prep Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Veritas Collegiate Academy likes a good challenge.
