Pacific Collegiate scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Ceiba College Preparatory Academy on the road to the tune of 69-30. That 39 points margin sets a new team best for Pacific Collegiate this season.
Even though Kirby Prep has not done well against Anzar recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went Kirby Prep's way against Anzar as Kirby Prep made off with a 47-27 victory. Kirby Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.
Kirby Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Kawasaki, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Kawasaki is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Rain Li was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Pacific Collegiate's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Kirby Prep, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Pacific Collegiate won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2023, slipping by Kirby Prep 1-0. Will Pacific Collegiate repeat their success, or does Kirby Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
