Bucksport was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Orono. The Golden Bucks came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in D East this week, Bucksport beat the Riots 17-14. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Bucksport's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Golden Bucks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matthew Stewart has thrown for 1,021 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Josh Gray has 32 catches for 498 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Mattanawcook and the Golden Bucks. The Lynx enters the game ranked 25th in the state, while Bucksport ranks 21st.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mattanawcook takes on the Golden Bucks. The Lynx have allowed 172 points this season, while Bucksport has given up 118.
The Golden Bucks and Orono played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Golden Bucks eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Stewart threw for 203 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.
