It was a good run, but the Lewisville Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Lincoln Charter on the road and fell 60-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lewisville has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Lewisville had strong showings from Aiyana Murrell, who scored five points along with nine rebounds, and Mariah Wallace, who scored three points. Murrell is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lewisville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Symphani Stevens, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Martha Guinle, who scored 15 points along with six steals.
Lewisville's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Lincoln Charter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Lewisville is on the road again on Friday and play against North Central at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. As for Lincoln Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pine Lake Prep at 6:00 p.m.
