Cumberland Valley has gone 8-2 against Chambersburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cumberland Valley Eagles will host the Chambersburg Trojans at 4:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Cumberland Valley earned a 7-3 victory over Central York. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Alex Crosby was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Caden Lloyd, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Chambersburg never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over Carlisle.
R Mills made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Mills was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, K Barclay and E Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Barclay went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Brown went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. A Basquez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Chambersburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carlisle only posted an OBP of .167.
The victory got Chambersburg back to even at 1-1. As for Cumberland Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Everything went Cumberland Valley's way against Chambersburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Cumberland Valley made off with a 6-0 victory.
