The Langston Hughes Panthers came tearing into  Monday's  match with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a  58-50  win over New Manchester. The  victory was all the more spectacular given Langston Hughes' disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 147th, while New Manchester is ranked 32nd).
 Langston Hughes got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Kyla Greene out in front who  went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists.  Destiny Givens was another key contributor,  scoring 14 points along with 5  assists.
 Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 4-2 with that  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for New Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Langston Hughes will take on Newnan at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Newnan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for New Manchester, they will look to defend their home court  on Friday against East Paulding at 6:00  p.m. East Paulding comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
