The Westview Warriors's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 37-35 win from a begrudging Warriorssquad. That's another feather in the cap for they, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Westview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bre Cory, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. Karis Weinberg was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Westview's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12. As for Sturgis, they bumped their record down to 1-3 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Westview has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Lakeland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday. As for Sturgis, they will head out on the road to face off against Edwardsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edwardsburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sturgis in Michigan (Edwardsburg is ranked 147th, while Sturgis is ranked 388th).
