Bishop Manogue has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the McQueen Lancers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Bishop Manogue didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Douglas, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory.
Bishop Manogue's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Williams, who scored 19 points. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Liam Sorensen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, even though Galena scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, McQueen still came out on top. McQueen took their match against Galena 67-56. The victory was just what McQueen needed coming off of a 88-54 loss in their prior game.
Bishop Manogue's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for McQueen, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Bishop Manogue didn't have too much breathing room in their match against McQueen in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was McQueen's Kade Snyder, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Bishop Manogue still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
