Fredonia came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Salamanca Warriors as they made off with a 14-1 victory. Considering the Hillbillies have won four contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Danielle Palisin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jenna Fryberger and Anna Delcamp did most of the damage at the plate: Fryberger went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Delcamp went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Fryberger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Draggett, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Fredonia pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
