Luther Prep posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. Everything went their way against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy as Luther Prep made off with a 67-43 win. Given Luther Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while St. John's Northwestern Military Academy is ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Lake Country Lutheran waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Messmer at home to the tune of 112-78. Lake Country Lutheran's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sam Hans was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hans, who scored 16 points.
Luther Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Lake Country Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Luther Prep came up short against Lake Country Lutheran when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 74-66. Can Luther Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
