Helix never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by  an  18-0 margin over the Monte Vista Monarchs. Considering the Highlanders have won seven matches by more than five  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Vivienne Munoz tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those  11  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high.
 At the plate,  Kamilah Jones was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and four  RBI while going 2-for-2. Those  two  home runs gave  her a new career-high.  Nikaylah Domingo was another key player,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Helix  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in six consecutive  contests.
Helix has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Monte Vista, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the  loss, which was their eighth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Helix will head out to  challenge Mater Dei Catholic  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Highlanders 3.2, the Crusaders 3) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Monte Vista, they will be playing at home against Grossmont  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
