The Acalanes Dons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alhambra. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Acalanes of the 54-38 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.
Acalanes' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam Krackeler, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Dodge, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Acalanes has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Alhambra, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Acalanes will square off against Campolindo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Campolindo will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Alhambra, they will head out on the road to face off against Berean Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berean Christian is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
