After flying high against the Waltham Hawks last Saturday, The Bedford Buccaneers came back down to earth. Bedford was dealt a 33-6 loss at the hands of Duxbury on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 37 points in the game before, Bedford couldn't push the score so high this time.
Duxbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trevor Jones led the charge by throwing for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Duxbury also got a significant boost from Alex Barlow, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 126 yards.
Bedford's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Duxbury, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Bedford will be playing in front of their home fans against Concord-Carlisle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Duxbury, they will square off against Somerset Berkley Regional at TBD on Friday.
