Even though the Two Eagle River Eagles have not done well against the St. Regis Tigers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Two Eagle River had just enough and edged St. Regis out 45-43. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Two Eagle River has scored all season.
Jabez Madplume was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Addison, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
The victory (which was Two Eagle River's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for St. Regis, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Two Eagle River will be playing in front of their home fans against Heart Butte at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Regis on the road again on Thursday and play against Hot Springs at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th.
