Fossil Ridge is 9-1 against Rocky Mountain since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fossil Ridge SaberCats will head out on the road to challenge the Rocky Mountain Lobos at 5:30 p.m. Fossil Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Fossil Ridge got the win against Legacy by a conclusive 58-36.
Natalie Lin had an outrageously good game as she scored 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain beat Monarch 53-40 on Monday.
It was another big night for Meela Delap, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times she's played. Kenna Wagner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight steals and seven assists.
Fossil Ridge's record is now 11-9. As for Rocky Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Fossil Ridge have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rocky Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Fossil Ridge and Rocky Mountain were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but Fossil Ridge came up empty-handed after a 59-58 loss. Thankfully for Fossil Ridge, Abigail Saville (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
