The Del Norte Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 57-36 defeat at the hands of Rio Rancho. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Del Norte has suffered yet this season.
Despite the defeat, Del Norte saw an underclassman step up: Julian Castillo scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Del Norte has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Rio Rancho, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Norte and Manzano will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Manzano is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Rio Rancho, Rio Rancho and Hobbs will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Hobbs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday.
