With a playoff game on the line, the Leroy Bears rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Calhoun 40-7 at home. The win was just business as usual for Leroy, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Malik Howell, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Huebner, who threw for 106 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Leroy's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Jaquan Scott and his three sacks.
Leroy has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.08 points. As for Calhoun, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Leroy will take on Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgiana is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
