Phoenix Day School for the Deaf lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Miracle Brooks, who scored six points along with six steals and two blocks. Brooks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Valentina Gutierrez was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Cicero Prep Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maggie Hooppaw out in front who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals. Hooppaw is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyse Nap, who scored eight points along with eight steals and two blocks.
Phoenix Day School for the Deaf has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Cicero Prep Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.
